Orly Foil FX Collection

I'm sure you've all seen the press release and tons of swatches of these already, so I won't bore you with the details. The one prominent feature of these is that, according to Orly, they're meant to be 'Minx-like'...

Luxe. This is a neutral gold foil, a little on the champagne side of gold. It's not too warm, which is good for me because warm golds look weird on me.

Rage. Sort of a pinkish-copper foil? But with really heavy silver foil particles. Has a bit of a speckled look. Reminds me of someone.... RAGE!

Shine. Pure silver foil. Not really unique, but still pretty. Looks like mirror balls. (Look at them shine!)

Nice formula on these. They needed at least two coats, but I did three. They're a dense metallic particle foil, which means they can be a little patchy if not applied evenly, hence the need for two to three coats -to get all the little particles even. Good dry time for Orly, but not super fast. Doesn't seem to gain any additional sparkle from topcoat, so if you don't have topcoat handy you'll be fine.

I like these a lot. They're some of the sparkliest foils I've ever seen. They are super noticeable and reflective, definitely and attention grabber.

Cool? Hell yes. Minx-like? No, not really. *Maybe* from a distance, but up close these would never pass for Minx. They're too foily and grainy and Minx's signature look is that elusive liquid-metal smooth look.

(These were sent to me for review.)
